The New Sound of the Venez.
価格: ¥1,850
Heavily influenced by the UK acid-jazz scene, Los Amigos Invisibles appropriated the wah-wah heavy jazz-funk, disco and fusion of the 1970s in a far more convincing way than British equivalents like JTQ and Corduroy. Much of this is down to their integration of salsa, cha cha and bossa nova. This lends it just the right flavour of tropicalismo to secure the authentic stamp. It is also their willingness to experiment (successfully) with house and drum & bass rather than just retro sounds that make this album so good. The New Sound of the Venezuelan Gozadera is a non-stop party album par excellence--tunes like "Sexy", "La Groupie" and the scandalous "Disco Anal" groove on a Brand New Heavies/Dmitri From Paris tip, marred only by the occasional OTT mishap. --Derryck Strachan
