I was diassapointed in this book. As other reviewers have said, the text is dull. Also, I found the pictures in the text (as in john saw picture, picture) difficult to understand, and substitute words for to help children search out the item.
I bought this for my 2 and a half year old, as the recommended age bracket was for baby-preschoolers, however I find it unsuitable for her at this age. Perhaps we will enjoy it more in a few years when she will be able to search for the pictures on the pages. That said, she does enjoy the colourful pictures on each page.

外国のハロウィーンとは実はおどろおどろしく
気味の悪い感じがあるということを
知っている方はなかなかいないので
実はこういうことをして楽しむお祭りなんだよと
子供たちに見せて教えてあげることが
できると思います。

魔女になるだけじゃないんですよね。
仮装姿も可愛らしくて子供もとても
好きみたいです。

I found this book only slightly amusing. Children always like looking for things - hence the success of the 'I Spy' books - so they are likely to get some enjoyment out of this book.

For those of you who are English teachers seeking Halloween read-alouds, this is not the book for you - owing to the nature of the pictures/size of the book.

The text itself is dull. Each page is headed with a simple sentence, for example 'The children and their friends visit the Halloween Fair where there are lots of surprises'. This introductory sentence is followed by 'John sees (picture) (picture). Sara sees (picture) (picture). Tina sees (picture) (picture), and so on. Finally we are presented with the question 'Can you see the batty bats?' The same format is repeated on each page (Perhaps this is why it is so popular!?!)

In conclusion, I think it is better to spend more money and purchase 'I spy - A scary night'...Much more fun

去年、何か英語圏のクリスマスの様子が分かる絵本を子供たちにと思いＴｈｅ　Ｂｅｓｔ　Ｃｈｒｉｓｔｍａｓ　Ｈｕｎｔ　Ｅｖｅｒを購入しました。Ｊｏｈｎ　Ｓｐｅｉｒｓの絵がとてもかわいくて大満足、うちの当時6才と4才の2人は大喜び。今年ハロウィーン時期にＥａｓｔｅｒ，　Ｈａｌｌｏｗｅｅｎと買い求めたところ、７才、5才になった2人は私が説明しなくても勝手にページをめくり英文の中にある絵柄さがして楽しんでました。2人の間ではちょっとハロウィーンの方が人気が高かったようです。他の2冊に比べると黒やオレンジといった暗めの色合いですがイラストがかわいいので怖がりの下の息子も大丈夫でした。内容的にも5人の子供たちが大活躍。教室を飾ったり、かぼちゃ畑でかぼちゃをとったり、祖父母の家へ出かけたり、ハロウィーン一色の町や学校、迷路、パレード、パーティとアメリカの子供たちのハロウィーンの楽しみ方が色々載っていて私もとっても参考になりました。「ミッケ」シリーズや「ウォーリーをさがせ」などの好きな方、価格もとっても手頃なので一度試してみて下さい。みんなでＴｈｅ　Ｂｅｓｔ〜Ｈｕｎｔ　Ｅｖｅｒの輪を広げてクリスマスの再版をまちましょう！

このシリーズにはEaster,Halloween,christmasの３種類がありますが、この本が一番色遣いもきれいで
楽しいと思います。出版順からいってもこれが一番新しく、その分こなれてきたのかもしれません。

内容は絵が中心で、びっしり書き込まれた絵の中から指定された小さな絵をみつけることを楽しみます。
それにCan you find tha batty bats?といった簡単な英文がついていて、ついでにそれも探します。
それぞれの季節で楽しむのだったらせっかくシリーズになっているのだから３冊全部揃えても
悪くはないけれど、とりあえず１冊というのなら、これがお勧めです。
