Twister: Motion Picture Score
価格: ¥3,099
Although touted as a blockbuster action flick, Twister doesn't really fall into the action category. Mark Mancina had action to score, but the dramatic edge might not necessarily be what you most fondly recall. His slice of Americana introduced by "Wheatfield" is the bright penny left over once the storm has passed. The bouncing motif carried on horns serves as a starter pistol when Bill Pullman's gung-ho crew blast-off in pursuit of the latest tornado. The use of choir adds a touch of grandeur to the score that separates the furiously fast material from Mancina's previous collaboration with director De Bont (Speed). A subtle chant from the voices here and there blows a little temperament over the dashing rhythms and electronic effects which build to a cacophonous roar for the nasty "God's Finger". Since the score was criminally lost in the film's sound mix, this album is the only way to hear the composer's melodic maelstrom. --Paul Tonks
