So everyone kept telling you that you NEED A WORDPRESS blog! So you went out and purchased a domain name and website hosting, and even managed to install Wordpress yourself! But now you are stuck! Your blog doesn't look the way you thought it would, and the Wordpress Dashboard is so overwhelming to look at, you simply do not know WHERE to begin.
I remember my first Wordpress blog. I had such high hopes. It took every bit that I had to get it installed, and I was the person who thought the theme I wanted would be there, and it would function the way I desired it to. I thought to myself “Wordpress is going to be SO much easier than Frontpage.” (Yes, I used Frontpage before Worpdress!)
Well I was WRONG. When I installed Wordpress my blog looked plain and had the default theme, with all the default settings. Everyone kept telling me to get a Wordpress blog, but now I was stuck left wondering “what did I do wrong?” Nobody was there to guide me through the process of getting to know my new Wordpress blog, and finding the information online took so much time and energy and I became overwhelmed and frustrated and eventually walked away from Wordpress.
But as I grew in my knowledge of website design and html I started to dream about Wordpress again and how “easy” it could be. Now after several years of training myself, learning the ins and out of Wordpress and web design, I have found that Wordpress is EASY to use – once you learn how to use it.
Yes, there is a learning curve (I bet nobody ever told you that!) but once you learn Wordpress you will find that nothing is stopping you from creating all the websites you have ever dreamed of. It definitely can be a curse AND a blessing. ;)
