Kurosaki Ichigo is the hero of the Bleach comic books. He’s a senior high school student with the ability to see and communicate with spirits. He’s also a person with an immensely powerful spirit, but in the beginning he is not able to control it.

Ichigo receives transmissions of the angel of death (shinikami) from Kuchiki Rukia, and then he must carry out the duty as a replacement angel of death until Rukia has the power to return. That is the starting point for him to be the angel of death and to begin fighting in the spirit world.
