This is by far one of the best books Pratchett has written. It is a tribute, of sorts, to all the police officers of the world(s). As always he brings in a wide variety of mythological creatures, but not in the expected stereotyped roles they are portrayed in in normal fantasy books.
This is an hysterically funny book, with some great set pieces. The million-to-one-chance-but-it-might-just-work scene is great. Although working in a different field, and vastly more prolific, Pratchett is a worthy successor to Douglas Adams.
