William Steinberg's Fourth Symphony is a perfectly respectable effort, but it's the Stoki Third that's the main attraction. It's totally demented, even for the king of bizarre podium behavior. Not only is the work largely reorchestrated, but tempos shift from presto to adagio, often within a few seconds. It's a surprise a minute, and it sure as hell isn't Brahms.
