Y'vai, my elven companion, leaned in close.  Her breath blew hot on my neck and she whispered, "Are you going to shoot?" 

"You're the one who shoots."  She was our archer, after all.  The feel of her mouth on my neck and her soft body pressing into mine had me hard. 

"You have daggers." 

"Yes, but you throw daggers, not shoot them." 

She grinned as I turned to face her, our lips just inches apart.  "Then maybe you could shoot something else."  Her nimble fingers drifted down the front of my leather tunic, moving lower and lower...

A bad breakup.  A life of drinking.  How have I let things get this bad? 

This isn't the life I dreamed of.  Not the life I pictured.  I thought for sure, Laura and I would still be married.  Instead, she's with Kellen now.  My life's in pieces.
