Unsuspecting Jonathon is sent to live with maiden aunts Olive and Charlotte, who have some very fixed ideas about how to discipline young boys, derived from their authoritarian father. They try to send him to a Boys’ Boarding School, which uses corporal punishment. However, there’s no place until September, so on the Headmaster’s recommendation they first recruit a junior nanny who introduces him to good manners, being slapped on the legs, spanked on the bare over her lap and supervised bath-times. When his young nanny has to leave she is almost immediately superseded by a strict Governess, who introduces him to formal schooling, her ruler, her strap and cane. Still there’s no place for him at the Boys’ School, so the aunts send him to the local Girls’ Boarding School instead. The Mistress has no experience with boys and does not know what to do - so a girl helpfully provides a slipper and personally ensures he gets to feel it! Not content with that, the class bully takes over and has him ‘play puppy’ whilst she has another girl, her ’slave;. wait on her cronies and herself topless. In the holidays he is sent to be houseboy to his Schoolmistress, who takes a slipper and cant to him to keep him in line, and he is further bullied by the girls too. Finally he goes to the Boys’ School, where he rapidly falls foul of the Schoolmasters, Head Boy and Prefects and learn only too well what the fagging system means.
