The exciting new Western action novel from C. Wayne Winkle… This is "The Last Gunfighter: Nolan!"
An exciting new Western in the style of Robert J. Thomas, Ralph Cotton, and Duane Boehm filled with action, adventure and plot twists such as A.H. Holt, Robert Vaughan, and G.P. Hutchinson!
Chet Nolan stood just outside the only saloon in Benson, Arizona. Four horses stood hip-shot at the hitch rail. His own buckskin was loosely tied to the mesquite at the side of the weathered wooden building.
Nolan removed the thong from the hammer of his .45 caliber Colt and loosened the pistol in its holster. He hoped he wouldn’t have to use the pistol at all. Much of the time, his six-foot, 200-pound size and the stare from his black eyes were enough to persuade the men he hunted to come with him.
But he also knew how to use the Colt if he needed to. Five men had found that out when they tried to draw on him.
With a deep breath, Nolan stepped up to the bat wing doors and pushed through them. As he always did when entering a dimly lit building from the harsh glare of the southern Arizona desert, he immediately stepped to the right against the wall. This gave him enough time to let his eyes adjust. It also kept him from being a perfect target against the glare in the door.
