At nearly 100 songs and two CDs, I can think of no better source for getting a child hooked on folk music, or, at the very least, keeping him or her entertained over the longest of rainy spells. Mike and Peggy Seeger draw on a huge array of songs about games, animals, dances, fantasies, nature, and travels. Presented as sing-a-longs for children 10 and under, these songs include the playful "Jimmy Crack Corn," "Froggie Went a Courtin'," "She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain," "Ducks in the Millpond," and songs of slightly more serious themes such as "I Got a Letter This Morning," "Goodbye, Old Paint," and "Do, Do Pity My Case." --Roy Francis Kasten
