joint ventureとallianceは何が違うのか、そして何故allianceなのかを理解したい人にはお勧めです。
A much better book than Gary Hamel's other work, "Leading the Revolution", published just as the revolution came to an abrupt end.
The basic idea of the book is in the title and sub-title (see also the brief of the Editorial Reviews above). Throughout the book, it is expounded upon, explained in vivid terms, with abundant examples and quotable catchphrases, as befitting two bestselling management gurus.
Unlike lesser management books, however, the very idea, while not revolutionary, is worth revisiting. The management consultant aside, it is worth a corporate executive's time to re-examine (the book is only marginally verbose and lengthy, at 300 pages)--it may not have him arrive at the company the following week, burning with passion to rebuild structures and methods from top to bottom, but a placid understanding of the essence of alliances is certain to provide him with greater breadth of vision.
