Though perhaps slightly misleading in title, with the first volume of Parisian sonic adventurer Laurent Daumail only available as a CDR he distributed to friends and colleagues, this shouldn't detract from those in pursuit of Cam's unique sonic aesthetic. This style is quickly defined with the opening "Millennium," where clattering breaks and jazz instrumentation are quickly cut away from the turntables in favour of gentle key touches, or the numerous edits that find themselves sliced and diced into the rolling beats of "Voodoo." Cross pollination through hip-hop is perhaps the best description of Loa Project, with the gunshot jungle of "Ganja Man" and curious R&B cover of the Cole Porter standard "You Do Something To Me" somehow sitting comfortably next to "Juliet," which itself moves undaunted from uplifting breakbeat house through a melancholic string section before washing out through a sampled jazz loop.--Kingsley Marshall
