Not everyone is perfect… this book is trying to convey. When Zachary Benedict abducted Julie Mathison along his escape from the prison, he fell in love with her. She was not awed by his previous high-profiled career in Hollywood and looks as well but when they kissed, she was unknowingly mesmerized till reasoning was not working. She learnt to read him like a book and know in her heart that he is innocent. But when she was forced into many possible reasons that he could be dangerous, can she turn him to the law for what he may have been convicted unjustly?

The romance bloomed and when he decided that she is the one, I love the way he reacted when he saw her dressed up for their “first date” and then when he reappeared at her school to tell her that he understood everything and still loved her. His agreement to her father pre-martial abstinent to show that he is serious of marrying her was hilarious! And it touches everyone on his part for organizing the wedding by bringing in Barbara Streisand to sing the song in their wedding was so romantic!

I can't get enough of Judith McNaughts novels. Perfect made me laugh and cry. It was so touching. The letter that Zach sent to Julie from South America had me balling. If reading this novel, I would also reccomend reading Paradise first, it will also capture your heart!!! I would also highly recommend reading Tino Georgiou's bestselling novel--The Fates--if you haven't yet!!

Paradaiseの後に読みましたが、これは絶対にこの順番で読むのがおススメです！
とにかく泣ける部分があって、電車の中で涙が出てきて困りました。
一方で、ウィットにとんだ会話やシチュエーションで笑える部分も満載！
絶対に読んで損しない一冊です。

ヒロインのジュリーのキャラクターがまた可愛い！善良で、愛らしく、正義感に溢れ、周囲に人々を幸せにしちゃうような人。ジュリーの生徒たちもまた可愛い！
大好きな先生を守ろうと、「先生を泣かすな！」というところとかは、きゅーんとされられます。
ジュリーがボランディアで活動している、「女性の文盲者を救う会」（←私が勝手に意訳）は、本当にある団体なのだそうで、マクノートも寄付しているそうです。

Paradiceのスピンオフ。(Matt/Meredithが非常に重要な役割ででてくる)
重い過去を背負った映画監督/俳優のZackが妻殺害の無実の罪を着せられ投獄され脱獄、
Julie Mathisonを誘拐する。一緒にすごした数日の間にJulieはZackの無実を確信するが...。
その後例のごとくMcNaught特有の紆余曲折+泣き所山ほど。

二人が離れ離れになった後のZackのJulieへのLove Letterは確かによいです。
Zackの無実を最後まで信じぬくのがJulieではないところや、
決定的な所でZackを裏切ったJulieに懺悔させないところがロマンス小説の枠に
入らないMcNaughtでしょうか。
家族からも世間からも見捨てられてきたZackがそれでもJulieを守ろうとしているのも
涙物ですがさらにJulieさえも裏切られるのですから本当に涙物。
相変わらずどん底まで突き落としてくれる作者です。
不幸な状況を救ってくれるいつものMcNaughtのユーモアは後半に集中してます。

ヴィレッジブックから出ている『パラダイスを君に』が気に入ってJudith Mcnaughtを検索し、ここにたどり着いた方。
本作品で、その後のMattとMeredithに再会できます。
幸せいっぱいの二人の様子に嬉しくなること請合い。
そしてもちろん本書の主人公ZackとJulieも、負けず劣らず素敵なキャラクターです。
二人のやり取りには何度も声をあげて笑ってしまいました。
そして泣き所も沢山あります。
読み終わった後も長‾く余韻が残ります。
日常から乖離して楽しい読書に没頭したい方、ぜひ読んでみてください。
残念ながらZackとJulieが再登場するスピンオフは今のところ無いようなので、次はヒストリカルものでも読んでみようかな。
