I enjoyed the book of Mr Nitta Ichiro a lot. You understand the uniqueness of this epoch after reading. Here you can find some fresh thoughts. The author criticises the theory of Mr Imatani Akira about intention of Ashikaga Yoshimitsu to make his son tenno. Instead he maintains that theoretically Yoshimitsu could assert his status of 北山殿 and at the same time　keep 天皇　and 院 system within traditional 公家　framework. But one cannot agree with author attempt to diminish the undeniable fact concerning the crucial role of shikken in the determining of emperor in the second half of 13 cent. Author's concept about mediatory role of Hojo in this process is not persuasive. Nevertheless the book is really fascinating!
