Ok…if you are unable to keep up with Robert Jordan’s complex weaving…go read some “youth fantasy”…maybe you can keep up with it. For the adult reader who wants to read something that will stimulate your emotions and your mind…this is the series for you (all 9 books). Winters Heart is the beginning of the storm…which leads me to book ten…(which is due out next November)…It is always the quietest before the storm…and I think that the storm is coming…and all of the doubters will be so caught up in the fabric of The Wheel of Time that they will appreciate being lead up to the last battle…(could you imagine the last battle being fought in book seven for instance)...Half the plots in book one could not have been tied up by then… Even I admit that books seven and eight were slower than usual, but I did not enjoy them any less because of it. Another point that I must bring up…how many of you have actually read Tolkien? If you have read Lord of the Rings, you KNOW that the entire story was not “action packed”…yet you still complain…ever read the Silmarillion? I have. Not exactly fast paced…YET…I enjoyed it because I knew that it would make me understand the Lord of the Rings...in much more DEPTH. So… if you want the fast paced, one lined plot, one sided characters (with generic-easily said-fantasy names) look in the “junk-food” of fantasy…STICK WITH THE SLIM BOOKS…if you can’t find them they are usually on the bottom rack…below THE WHEEL OF TIME…
I also recommend that you read the Price of Immortality by C.M. Whitlock it is taking the world by storm (very good surprise)
