Sound of the Trio: Vme Series
価格: ¥1,773
Recorded in the summer of 1961 at the London House in Chicago, Peterson's favourite club, this has long been celebrated as one of the finest sessions of his career. The band is, in fact, Peterson's second trio: the world's greatest rhythm bassist, the ever-faithful Ray Brown, is still in residence and drummer Ed Thigpen plays in place of guitarist Herb Ellis. Hearing the Oscar Peterson Trio in full flight is an awesome experience. The swing is so intense, the interplay among the three players so tight, the sheer energy level so high, that it is impossible to imagine three musicians functioning more perfectly together. This CD contains all five original LP tracks, plus a further five from an earlier CD release, making it particularly good value. --Dave Gelly
